Brash billionaire and mediocre dancer, Mark Cuban, has thrown a 1.3 billion dollar offer into the pot for the purchase of baseball’s Chicago Cubs…that’s a lot of cigars. Cuban, who also owns the NBA Dallas Mavericks, is the highest bidder, making the offer to the Tribune Company which presently owns the Cubs. Cuban has paid more in NBA fines than most people make in a year…will he be able to play ball successfully in Chicago? We’ll see if money talks cuz he sure does.

The other player of note involved in the trade is Pirates outfielder, Jason Bay, traded to the Red Sox. The Yankees must be thrilled as Yankee manager, Joe Girardi comments, “Manny has been a thorn in our side for years.”

Okay, C-Rod filed for divorce from A-Rod recently, asking for the $12 million Florida home and a Gatorade tub full of money that he earned during their marriage. Cynthia’s claim is that A-Rod “emotionally abandoned his wife and children” and that the marriage was shut out by “extramarital affairs and other marital misconduct.”

A-Rod goes for the jugular today, filing papers in Miami, requesting that their prenuptial be honored and Cynthia’s cheating claims wiped from the record. Florida is a no-fault divorce state. Translation, he doesn’t have to come clean on why the marriage broke up. Remember, avoid tying the knot in the Sunshine State to ward off a possibly stormy financial future. He also said that he “has been paying, and will continue to pay … reasonable and bona fide expenses” for their two daughters. This could get very dirty…vengeance being a great motivator.
